On a quarterly basis IPEX clients receive a
comprehensive package of reports and graphs that is
customized to fit the needs of their particular
investment program. IPEX maintains a vast library of
proprietary reports and graphs that address all aspects
of investment performance and account activity. IPEX
separately analyzes an account's overall return and the
return of its equity and fixed income components; as
well as any specific investment objectives and
parameters that the client may have established.
IPEX bases its performance calculations on information
provided by the account's custodian. This approach
ensures that IPEX will use the same underlying security
prices and market values as the custodian, and minimizes
the possibility of there being any significant
disparities between the information contained in the
IPEX reports and the custodian reports.
IPEX produces reports that analyze both individual
accounts and combined accounts that utilize multiple
money managers. In the case of multiple managers, the
reports analyze the managers on a combined basis, as one
account, and side by side, to facilitate comparisons
between multiple managers that are managing different
portions of an individual account.
IPEX relies heavily on comparison benchmarks to evaluate
a money manager's relative performance. These benchmarks
are included in the IPEX performance, style and risk
reports. IPEX selects benchmarks based upon the
manager's historical investment style and the client's
objectives.
IPEX also compares the performance of an individual
money manager to a group of money managers that has a
similar investment style, i.e., a manager universe that
is internally constructed by IPEX. This information
helps clients to place their manager's performance in
proper perspective in relation to the real investment
world and prevailing market conditions.
IPEX clients receive the benefit of performance
reporting that is based on accepted industry norms. The
IPEX reports comply with the Performance Presentation
Standards adopted by the Association of Investment
Management and Research and the Consultant's Performance
Standards officially adopted by the Investment
Management Consultant's Association.
